Using readily available materials, I created a video based on phenomena captured by the camera. By lighting up cushioning material, I constructed a timeline using the transition from morning to night as a motif. Within this framework, the shadows cast on the background wall by the light shining on the cushioning material create a distant landscape. The contrast between the transparency of the material and the shadows begins to resemble an ink painting, and its outlines transform into the ridgelines of mountains. The space created by this envisioned grand landscape leads to a quiet time. This flow might even swallow up the changes occurring in the mountains. However, this too is the essence of time, and the flip side of the days that pass by like arrows. The presence of light reveals the three-dimensional information of objects, while at the same time, the shading of flat shadows induces a three-dimensional visual perception. In a world where light and shadow intertwine, the artist explores the elements of light and time in video.
