The Stream of Stones

As I gaze at the stones, I sometimes find myself contemplating the passage of time. These stones exist in this place today, having endured thousands, tens of thousands, or even hundreds of millions of years, due to some kind of cause and effect. They were undoubtedly carried by something and settled into this form. What kind of images could I conjure up in front of such stones? Instead of moving each stone individually, I decided to capture the whole picture by moving the camera. To represent the intense flow of time that must have been shaped and tossed about with considerable pain, I continued to spin around with the camera. Faster, more intensely. I then gradually layered the resulting rotational trajectories to create a multi-layered flow. The expressions of the stones wandering and entangled in the vortex seemed almost ghostly, and I further deepened this element by varying the pace of the time composition and zooming in and out of the images. Overall, I attempted to create a structure that resembles a dream seen by the stones, where they were moving (or being moved) in the dream, but ultimately returned to their present state.
